Fat Sick & Nearly Dead

Several months ago I found this documentary on Netflicks, it really opened my eyes to how I was eating and how little fruit and vegetables I ate.

I highly recommend you watch it as well, which is why I've embedded the video here for you to watch. 


I didn't think juicing was for me, but I did borrow my parents juicer and had a go... and it was yuck!!!  I couldn't stomach the vegetable juice and gave up then and there and returned the juicer and went on with my unhealthy lifestyle.

Fast forward to 2015 and I saw that Fat Sick & Nearly Dead 2 was coming out, I couldn't find it on Netflicks so decided to watch the first movie again and asked Hubby to watch with me.

This time I was more motivated than ever and with hubby decided on a start day of Wednesday the 7th of January to begin our fast together.  

I knew I wasn't going fail this time as I had my hubby walking this journey with me, I also researched recipes so I wouldn't make disgusting juices which will also help me stick to it. 

I wasn't sure how long I wanted to juice for so Hubby and I committed to a 5 day fast, this will take us to Monday the 12th which is when Hubby returns to work, then he can choose if he wants to juice at work or not. 

JUICE ON!!

Still trying to downsize

When you're over weight it so easy to jump on any diet you hear about try to lose weight, and I've tried so many in my journey.

Atkins, Paleo, Whole30, Raw, Weight Watchers, Dunken Diet and many many more.

While I've lost weight on every now, they're hard to stick with and I usually end up back to my bad habits eating heavily processed foods and putting every kilo back on.

This year I'm going to get to my goal!!!!  I've got a great support system and I'm determine this is my year, this is the year that I get to focus on ME and what I want, and one of the things I want is to be healthy!!

I weighed myself on the 1st of January 2015 to get a starting weight....

New Year New Resolutions

Well that last challenge didn't work but that's not going to stop me from trying again.

I really want to get to my new goal weight of 70kgs by the time I turn 30 in June this year.  We're also hoping to get pregnant which might stop me from reaching this goal but I may as well keep trying to get to that magic number as it did take 3 years for me to get up the duff with my first child.

One obstacle at the moment is I have a broken toe.  Which means no running or impact sports.  But I should be  able to cycle or swim so I need to work out a way to fit that into my day at the moment.

I've also gone back to my bad eating habits and have put weight on during the Christmas period, not that I want to step on those scales to find out how much.
I'm going to try to get back to posting daily with a food and exercise diary and just slowly improve and hopefully slowly shrink.

Day Five

Today I woke up really sore, especially in the buttocks.  Strangely I could walk fine in heels so that's what I wore to church today.  I had hoped to get a 10km bike ride in this afternoon while A had her afternoon nap but sitting on my arse was just to tempting.
So a quick short bike ride this evening just before dinner was squeezed in before the day was gone.

Day one - 38 minutes Wii Fit Plus
Day two - 20 minutes running on the treadmill
Day three - 1.46km cycle
Day four - 2.56km run, 6.39km walk
Day five - 1.64km cycle

Day Four

I was woken early this morning by A who did not want to go back to sleep, which meant I was up in time to go to the Hamilton Road Runners meet.

I started out with the running group 3 but as it had been over a month since I was last there I struggled to keep up and after 2.5kms I decided to leave them to it and was going to just run around the lake until I saw the walking group near by so I joined them and walked for 6.4km so almost 9km all up today :)

Going to run as much as I can this week in hope that I can keep up with them next week.

Day four - 2.56km run, 6.39km walk

Day Three

Slept in again, so no gym, and I had two extra kids today so apart from keeping up with them I didn't manage any exercise during the day.
I couldn't fail on just day three so as soon as hubby got home I jumped on my bike and cycled down to the supermarket and back.  Only 1.46km but it was still exercise.

Tomorrow I aim to get up and organised in time to go out with the Hamilton Road Runners in the morning.

Day Two

Yay I managed to get to the gym!!  had to hunt out a treadmill but I got a run in.  Due to the maui gas leak there was no hot water to shower, so I only had a run and no weights so I could get home and have a hot shower there before hubby had to leave for work.
